Business Administration with a focus on aviation
On the English-taught Bachelor’s degree programme in Aviation Management, you will gain an understanding of the economic aspects of air transport and prepare for roles with airlines, airports, air traffic control organisations and other companies in the sector.
Here’s what you can expect:
- A small, international environment: You’ll study in small groups in English, the language of the aviation industry.
- Work placements and practical semesters: You’ll gain early insights into companies and apply what you’ve learnt during your studies.
- Choices: You can choose from a wide range of compulsory elective modules or spend a semester at one of our partner universities abroad.
Branchenkontakte, die Sie weiterbringen
Über Unternehmenspartnerschaften, Gastvorträge und Exkursionen knüpfen Sie bereits im Studium Kontakte zu Fachleuten aus der Branche.
Course content
The programme is divided into four areas that combine theory, practical experience and individual specialisations.
The programme begins with the General Management modules. Here, you will learn the fundamentals of business administration, methodologies and key skills. This broad foundation also opens up career opportunities outside the aviation industry.
The Aviation Management modules introduce you to the world of aviation. You will explore topics such as aviation law, sustainability, airport and airline management, logistics, digitalisation and tourism. At the end of the programme, you will apply everything you have learnt in a business simulation and make real-world decisions as part of a team.
In the ‘Management in Practice’ modules, you will gain practical professional experience. You will then present your experiences to the group and discuss them together. In this way, everyone benefits from the wealth of experience shared by others. In the dual-study programme in Aviation Management, you will complete the ‘Management in Practice’ modules at your industry partner’s premises.
In the compulsory elective area, you’ll choose from a changing range of modules, such as ‘Introduction to Air Traffic Management’ or ‘Professional Airport Management’. This allows you to set your own areas of specialisation. You’ll also have the opportunity to undertake a supervised semester abroad.
The programme culminates in a Bachelor’s thesis, in which you will integrate content from General Management and Aviation Management.
