In exceptional family circumstances, you may bring your child with you to seminars and lectures. This is not permitted during written examinations.

Pregnant students and students with children can take a semester’s leave of absence. This gives you time for your family whilst remaining enrolled.

You should submit your application to the Student Administration Office.

The Worms Youth Welfare Office arranges childminding. The city calculates the parental contribution based on your income and the extent of the care required.

Childminding complements the care provided within the family. It takes place either full-time or at agreed times, either at the childminder’s home or in your own home. It is also suitable as a supplement to nursery, for example before or after opening hours. For children under the age of three, it is an alternative to a nursery. The service is available for children aged 0 to 14.

All childminders must hold a childcare licence and have the necessary qualifications. The Youth Welfare Office carries out regular checks on them.

The Childminding Office in Department 5.10 (Childcare and Family Benefits) of Worms City Council is responsible for this.

In the Liebenauer Feld housing complex at 22 Bebelstraße, there is a 39-square-metre family flat. The landlord is the Studierendenwerk Vorderpfalz.

The Foundation for the Promotion of Gifted Students and Early-Career Researchers supports single students with children and single pregnant students. You can apply for financial support if financial difficulties are jeopardising your studies.

The Equal Opportunities Officer provides support in emergency situations through one-off grants or subsidised material resources. The amount available is limited.
