Take an active role in shaping digitalisation – enrol on the dual Master’s programme in Applied Computer Science.
On the dual Master’s programme in Applied Computer Science, you will deepen your knowledge of computer science. You will learn to develop complex IT systems, improve digital processes and utilise modern technologies.
The programme combines methodological and analytical content with practical topics. These include:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Mobile computing
- Networks & Security
- Interaction & Visualisation
The course content is closely linked to your partner company. You alternate between modules at the university and work placements at the company. There, you apply your knowledge directly to real-world tasks.
You will usually write your Master’s thesis in collaboration with your partner company. This allows you to combine your studies with practical experience within the company.
Course content
Study with a practical focus and gain a deeper understanding of computer science
On the dual Master’s programme in Applied Computer Science, you will combine practical projects at a partner company with in-depth modules. You will choose a specialisation:
- Mobile Computing
- Networks & Security
- Interaction & Visualisation
At the start of the programme, you will focus on academic research, seminars and the ‘Digitalisation & Sustainability’ module.
During the first two semesters, the System Development project will prepare you for real-world tasks. You will develop complex IT systems within a business context.
In the compulsory-elective modules and deep-dive projects, you’ll explore specialised IT topics in greater depth. These include, for example, artificial intelligence, networks, mobile applications and visual computing.
Practical projects complement your studies. In these, you will apply your knowledge to specific tasks from the world of IT.
In the final semester, you will complete the programme with a Master’s thesis. You will usually write this in collaboration with your partner company.
After graduation, you can enter the workforce straight away. Starting your own business is also an option. Computer science skills are utilised across many industries.
