I must emphasise just how indispensable a good degree programme with excellent lecturers in the field of IT is if one wishes to truly understand IT, rather than merely implement it in some way. Without an academic background, in my view, the ‘why’ behind the ‘how’ is missing. And that is precisely what is so important for being able to make design decisions independently. I regard the courses on computer networks, introduction to computer science, cryptography and operating systems as the fundamental courses for understanding how IT works in practice.

Looking back, I can say with complete conviction: it was the right decision. Gaining an insight into the entire tourism value chain, the strong practical focus and the friendly, family-like atmosphere at the university made my degree course particularly appealing and exciting for me. As an active member of the Tourism and Transport Students’ Association, I was able to play an active part in shaping student life and experience some unforgettable moments. Many of my fellow students became close friends who are still by my side today.

When deciding on a Master’s programme, I found exactly this philosophy at Worms University of Applied Sciences: lecturers with extensive practical experience who share first-hand insights whilst also providing a solid grounding in the theoretical principles.

I was also particularly impressed by the international and intercultural focus of the Global Trade Management programme. Interacting with fellow students from all over the world has significantly broadened my personal and professional horizons and given me valuable insights into global contexts.

I am very grateful for my time at Worms University of Applied Sciences and wish all students, as well as the university itself, all the best for the future.

When I chose to do my Master’s degree at Worms University of Applied Sciences, two aspects in particular were decisive: the opportunity to choose a specialisation based entirely on my own interests, and the option to undertake a semester abroad or a work placement. This meant that in the second semester I was able to specialise in marketing, and in the third semester I undertook an internship at PwC Germany in Frankfurt. Looking back, I remain extremely happy with both decisions.

Early on in my sixth-form years, I was captivated by the profession of tax adviser because of its complexity and versatility. I therefore decided to complete my Bachelor’s degree in Taxation at Worms University of Applied Sciences, which reinforced my conviction and broadened my knowledge of tax law. This positive experience motivated me to pursue my Master’s degree at Worms University of Applied Sciences as well – a decision which, in hindsight, proved to be absolutely the right one.
