Theory meets practice. Business meets IT.
Description of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Business Informatics – dual study programme
Would you like to combine computer science and business rather than just sitting in a lecture theatre? On the dual degree programme in Business Informatics, you’ll learn how digital solutions drive business processes forward. At the same time, you’ll gain real-world professional experience at a partner company.
At the university, you’ll acquire academically sound knowledge in computer science, business administration and process management. You’ll then apply this knowledge directly within your partner company. Work placements and projects are firmly integrated into the course structure.
From the third semester onwards, you’ll choose your own specialisation. You’ll opt for either Business Development or Business Information Systems and deepen your knowledge specifically in that area.

Theory and practice in the dual study programme
On the dual Bachelor’s degree programme in Business Informatics at Worms University of Applied Sciences, you’ll combine theory and practice right from the start. You’ll learn the fundamentals of business administration and computer science. You’ll also study databases, software development, networks and business process management.
You’ll apply your knowledge directly within your partner company, where you’ll work on projects and gain practical experience.
From the third semester onwards, you can choose specialist areas of focus, guided by your interests and career goals.
Regular work placements are an integral part of the programme. In the fifth semester, you will undertake a work placement semester and apply your knowledge intensively within the company.
You will complete your degree with a Bachelor’s thesis. As a rule, you will write this thesis in collaboration with your partner company. Afterwards, you can either enter the workforce directly or go on to study for a Master’s degree in Business Informatics.

Studies and Campus
Modern computer labs with the latest hardware and software offer you the opportunity to work hands-on and try out the latest technologies. In addition, well-equipped group study rooms are available in a central location - ideal for students and teaching staff.
At the Department of Computer Science, you can expect a particularly personalised and practical learning environment. Small study groups ensure an excellent student-teacher ratio.
Lecturers with experience in the industry bring practical case studies, agile development methods and real-life use cases into the classroom so that theoretical knowledge can be directly linked to practical scenarios.
You can bring your ideas to life in the Makerspace of the Department of Computer Science! Whether tinkering, inventing or creative projects - here you will find everything you need to give free rein to your creativity.
